| Major Accomplishments
A DEDICATION TO CIVIL RIGHTS & SERVING OUR COMMUNITY
- Established a Misdemeanor Mental Health Court to provide direct judicial review and supervision of mentally ill criminal offenders
- Established the Red Cord Diversion Court - the first of its kind in Nueces County - to assist victims of sex trafficking and give them a chance at a new beginning
- Work recognized by the Coastal Bend Coalition Against Modern Day Slavery
- Work recognized by the Corpus Christi United Chamber of Commerce
- Selected as honorary chair at the New Life Ministries' Celebration of Courage banquet, which raised money to build a refuge for minors/children who are victims of human trafficking
- Received a Presidential Award from the H. Boyd Hall Chapter of the NAACP
