Judge Deeanne Galvan has served as Judge of Nueces County Court at Law Number Three and Presiding Judge of the County Courts of Law of Nueces County. With over 35 years of legal experience as a lawyer and former Municipal Court judge, Judge Galvan has been a Corpus Christi resident for more than 45 years. During her tenure, she established the Misdemeanor Mental Health Court to provide direct judicial review and supervision of mentally ill criminal offenders. She also founded the Red Cord Diversion Court, the first of its kind in Nueces County, which assists victims of sex trafficking and gives them a chance at a new beginning. Her work has been recognized by the Coastal Bend Coalition Against Modern Day Slavery, the Corpus Christi United Chamber of Commerce, and the H. Boyd Hall Chapter of the NAACP, which honored her with a Presidential Award. Judge Galvan was also selected as honorary chair of the New Life Ministries' Celebration of Courage banquet, which raised money to build a refuge for minors who are victims of human trafficking.
